By accessing or using the Site, donating, purchasing tickets, signing up for updates, or otherwise interacting with CAC online, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2) Who We Are
Chefs Against Cancer is a nonprofit organization. The Site includes information about our mission, events, fundraising efforts, sponsorship opportunities, and ways to donate. (If you want this section to reflect your exact legal status and legal name, see the “Info I need from you” section below.)
3) Donations
a. Tax-deductibility. CAC represents that it is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and provides receipts for donations. Donors are responsible for determining tax deductibility as allowed by law.
b. Payment processing. Donations may be processed through third-party payment processors. CAC does not store full payment card details on its own servers if a third-party processor is used.
c. Refunds. Donations are generally non-refundable unless required by law or unless CAC determines, in its sole discretion, that a refund is appropriate (for example, duplicate transactions).
d. “Cover the fee” options. If you opt to cover processing fees, that amount is also treated as part of your donation.4) Event Tickets, Sponsorships, and Changes
a. Ticket policies. Ticket purchases (if offered) may be final unless otherwise stated at checkout or in the event listing.
b. Event changes. Events may change date, time, format, venue, programming, chefs, speakers, and other details. If we cancel an event, our refund/credit approach will be posted for that specific event.
c. Sponsorship deliverables. Sponsor benefits (logo placement, mentions, tables, etc.) are provided as described at the time of sponsorship; reasonable substitutions may be made if production or venue constraints require it.5) Health, Food, and Allergy Notice
CAC events may involve food and beverage service. Attendees are responsible for allergies and dietary restrictions.CAC cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment and is not responsible for adverse reactions.
6) Photo/Video Release
By attending CAC events or participating in CAC activities, you may be photographed or recorded. Unless you notify us in writing in advance (where feasible), you grant CAC permission to use your likeness in our marketing, social media, and promotional materials without compensation.
7) Use of the Site
You agree not to:
use the Site for unlawful purposes,
interfere with Site operation or security,
attempt unauthorized access to accounts/systems,
submit false information, spam, or abusive content.
8) Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, CAC owns or licenses the Site content (text, graphics, logos, photos, videos). You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute Site content without prior written permission, except for personal, noncommercial use.
9) Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may link to third-party websites (partners, charities, ticketing platforms, payment processors, social platforms). CAC is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.
10) Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” CAC makes no warranties that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
11) Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CAC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, donations, ticket purchases, sponsorships, or attendance at CAC events.
12) Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CAC and its directors, officers, volunteers, and agents from claims arising from your misuse of the Site, violation of these Terms, or violation of any law or third-party rights.
13) Privacy
Your use of the Site is also subject to our Privacy Policy (posted separately).
14) Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Venue for disputes shall be in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, unless otherwise required by law.
15) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Chefs Against Cancer (“CAC,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit chefsagainstcancer.org (the “Site”), donate, purchase tickets (if applicable), sign up for updates, or contact us.1) Information We Collect

Contact details (name, email, phone number, mailing address)
Donation-related information (donation amount, date/time, and transaction identifiers)
Event/ticket details (if applicable)

b. Payment information
If you donate or buy tickets through a third-party payment processor, your payment details (like full credit card number) are typically collected and processed by that processor, not stored by CAC. CAC may receive limited details such as last four digits, payment method type, and confirmation/transaction ID.c. Information collected automatically

2) How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
process donations and issue receipts
provide event information and administer ticketing (if applicable)

We do not sell your personal information in the normal “data broker” sense. (If you want the stronger “Never sell donor lists” language, I included it in the Disclaimers section below.)

5) Email and Marketing Preferences

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described above, including recordkeeping, receipts, tax documentation, and legal compliance.
7) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8) Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we collected such information, we will delete it.
9) Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing of your personal information. To make a request, contact support@chefsagainstcancer.org.
10) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” will reflect the latest version.
